What To Expect

What To Expect

Selecting an attorney is an important decision. Please don’t rely solely on advertisements when making this decision. Please read our legal notices here.

Scheduling An Appointment

Client appointments are conducted at our firm (117 Fox Plan Rd., Suite 101 in Monroeville). All appointments are scheduled in advance. To schedule your appointment please call our office. Once we schedule your appointment, we will ask you to complete some paperwork and return it to us before your appointment.

Initial Appointment

The initial appointment typically lasts thirty minutes. At the initial appointment, the attorney will spend a few moments discussing our firm, our policies, and our philosophies regarding estate planning and estate administration. Most of the thirty minutes will, of course, be spent learning more about you and your needs and concerns. Burkett Law hopes you’ll find our attorneys to be friendly and approachable, regardless of your age, wealth or education.

Hiring Our Firm

At the end of your appointment, the attorney will describe for you what to expect next. Assuming that the attorney has determined that you need our legal services, our firm will prepare an engagement letter. This letter describes to you the services we will perform for you, our fees, and other important items regarding our legal representation. Whether you are meeting with us for estate planning or estate administration, the attorney will develop an action plan with you so that you understand what steps will be taken and an approximate timeline for those steps. Timely, clear communication is important throughout our representation.
